Guyana's new official website done by the Guyana tourism Authority is www.guyana-tourism.com. It's branded as "Guyana, the Amazon Adventue". In the past everything was branded Guyana, Naturally. I personally like the Amazon Adventure slogan, however it's a slogan that comes with responsibilities. I hope when deciding on it officials thought about the image it would conjure up for a potential visitor and if Guyana can deliver on the promise both Amazon and Adventure brings to mind.....
Amazon Adventure...
well Guyana is certainly a country filled with Adventure.
According to answers.com amazon is described as:
1)Greek Mythology. A member of a nation of women warriors reputed to have lived in Scythia.
2)often amazon A tall, aggressive, strong-willed woman.
3)A small green parrot of the genus Amazona, having a short tail and red-and-blue wings, native to Central and South America.
And When you google Amazon .....of course Amazon.com comes up....not only number one...but number two and three as well....hope we can top that...
However when you google Amazon Adventure....the website amazonadventure comes up fortunately Guyana is listed as one of the destinations along with many many others....unfortunately guyana does not own that URL with our slogan going in that direction an all....oh well....that says alot for prior research done. Anyway when all is said and done I do think Guyana has the ability to offer a good amazon adventure if researched, packaged and managed well.
